On September 30, Acting Against Cancer will be hosting Broadway's Booziest Brunch at their rehearsal space in ArtSpace (323 W. Broadway). The event will kick off with an hour-long mix-and-mingle reception at 12 noon featuring mimosas, bloody Marys, cocktails, brunch food and more. During this time, any and all attendees can register to perform a song (solo or duet) for $5. Interested performers will quickly review their number with the pianist to ensure clarity on tempo, cuts, etc.
Following the reception, the party will move into AAC's theatre (and so will the bar don't worry), and those who signed up will perform their numbers intermingled with a couple AAC selections previewing the rest of the season. Guests will then receive a ballot to vote for their favorite performer. The top three will win some fabulous brunch-inspired prizes. Everyone will then drink the afternoon away with more mimosas and sing-a-longs. It's a theatre event for theatre people, and whether you're wailing or watching, it'll be a brunch you'll never forget. Tickets are $15 with a cash bar or $30 for an open bar, and proceeds benefit Acting Against Cancer's commitment to using the arts to change the lives of children touched by cancer.
