This event begins at 4:00 Louisville time, no matter what the event listing says.
Louisville's own Jonathan Ashley will be returning to town on July 23 to read from his new novel, SOUTH OF CINCINNATI, based in part on his experiences owning and operating Second Story Books a few years back. Jon will also be performing some songs which may or may not include old favorites from his days with the Shooting Gallery and Little Triggers. Jon's songs and novels record the desperate trajectories traced by passionate Kentuckians when hard luck and bad plans abound. Also performing will be Call Me Bronco's Sam St. Samuel, who'll be reading from his work-in-progress TRAVIS, an erotic novel set in Louisville's seedy underbelly. It promises to be an entertaining and inspiring afternoon of words and music--only at Surface Noise!
Surface Noise events are free and open
to the public; they are kid-and dog-friendly (as long as they get along with Darby). A $5.00 donation is suggested, with all proceeds going to the performers, but don't let that discourage you from coming if you're broke--all are always welcome.
